Poem - That Day - Rejected Thrice

That Day

An uncertain world lies ahead in that unknown desert
Without my parents whom they have brutally snatched.
I walk on this dusty road befriending our dark silence
With an unending stretched line and colours unmatched.

Lost are those golden days that were once quite ordinary;
The bluish sky and the greenish earth without a fair war.
Where there was life, there is power and possession now.
And here we are still unaware of what exactly to search for.

There is no miracle in life and neither is it actually meant to be;
People always protest and mourn for deads from far corners
But never does one talk of sharing shelters for faces unknown
‘Cause they become objects of disgust once they cross the borders.

One can’t stop crawling even if the narrow tunnel is pitch dark,
This ain’t an adventure; this is us without any alternative route.
Hope still burning within like a silver lining to survive and win
Where most would give up and curse the powerfuls for the loot.

I walk on this dusty road befriending my hopeful hope.
May be someday, someone will understand my miseries.
May be someday the world will listen to me with tears.
May be someday I will change the way people live their lives.
May be someday that day will come too.

That day when the world is mine too.
